Day 27 – Ottawa, ON to North Bay, ON

This was a day to travel from a bustling metropolis to a far more remote area.

The Route
We drove 235 miles and ended up just east of North Bay. We left Ottawa early. After some maneuvering on residential streets, we ended up on TCH-417 heading north. TCH-417 became TCH-17 at Arnprior and shrunk to two lanes. TCH-17 took us the rest of the way.

The road surface on TCH-17 varied unpredictably from baby-bottom smooth to really rough. We figure we got equal doses of each.

The Campground
We’re camped at Dreany Haven Campground on the outskirts of North Bay. It’s OK, not great. We’re using using Tim Hortens' Wi-Fi tonight.

Tomorrow

We’re heading toward Sault Ste. Marie.
