The Route
Our 168 mile trip was really simple. We got on TCH-2 in Moncton, drove west and got off at Woodstock.
Observations
Traffic on TCH-2 was very light.
There's lots of wilderness here.

A Historic Site
Hartland is a small community just a short distance north of Woodstock. It prides itself in having the world's longest covered bridge. We went to see it after getting set up in the campground.
The Hartland Bridge crosses the St. John River. It's 1,282 feet long and was opened in 1901. It was covered in 1922 and a sidewalk was added in 1945.
The bridge was declared a national historic site in 1980 and a provincial historic site in 2001.
A First Time
Our campground directory has a limited selection for this area. We're sure there are more good ones, but we didn't know where they were. So, after having set up in 257 other campgrounds, we checked in at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park for the first time. Fortunately, the Park Ranger put us in a distant area of the park. They probably call it the "old folks section".
The facility is very nice and would be a treat for all of our grandchildren.
Ah, yes. All the amenities we were looking for. |

Tomorrow
We continue our loop around Maine and should make it to Quebec and the south shore of the St. Lawrence River.
