It was cloudy with intermittent
drizzle for about half of the day and sunny for the rest. The 192 mile trip
into Nova Scotia was pleasant.
The Route
We crossed the
Confederation Bridge into New Brunswick, took TCH-16 south to exit 2 in Nova
Scotia, NS-2 south from Amherst to Parrsboro on the coast, then east along
Cobequid Bay on NS-2 to Truro, and south on NS-2 to Hilden.
The NS-2 drive from
Amherst to Parrsboro to Truro was the long way. We wanted a scenic alterative
and got one. However, the road was really rough. The trailer contents got
tossed around more than on any other trip. Nothing broke. The black water tank
got a good shake-up.

Dinner
We stopped at Diane's Restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner.
Carol tried flounder today (instead of haddock) and found she really liked it.
Dick tried a "hot hamburger platter ... loaded". We've seen it on menus in Canada, but never in the US. It was tasty, but gravy on french fries was a bit much. It was an interesting experiment that won't be repeated.

We’re at Scotia Pine Campground in Hilden. It’s
very nice.

Tomorrow
We’re moving on to Cape
Breton Island, the northeastern extent of Nova.
Gravy on French Fries is delicious, Dick, just not very good for your health!
