We enjoyed our stay at Hardings Point Campground, but left at 10:15 and traveled 126 miles to Hopewell Cape.
Hardings Point memories from last night ...

Site #4 was clean and comfortable. |
The free ferry runs 7/24 and is a fun ride. |
The Route
We took the ferry to NB-177, went south on NB-177 to NB-7, south on NB-7 to NB-1, north on NB-1 through St. John to Penobsquis, then NB-114 through Fundy National Park and the town of Alma to Hopewell Cape.
Gas
The price of gasoline seems to be pretty consistent here. We've only seen variations of a few cents from city to city. It costs about $5.40 USD per gallon.
Highlights
NB-1 is a typical 4-lane highway ... smooth traveling. NB-114 gave us a different experience. It was narrow, patched and rough in many places.
We got many glimpses of low tide as we traveled near the coast. We stopped in Alma for lunch and got an even closer look.
We're staying at Ponderosa Pines Campground tonight. It's pretty nice. They have an attractive setting among the pines, clean restrooms and showers, and wi-fi at the site.

Hopewell Rocks
Yesterday we looked at the tides from above the water's surface. Today the tides let us walk on the ocean floor and see what formations develop underwater. Remember, high tide is 46 feet here.
Carol gets it ... don't be late returning. |
Our first look at what's under water. |
Wave action leaves its marks. |
We met Evert and Kay Hawk tonight. They are relatively new Airstreamers from near Reading, Pennsylvania. They have a 2-year old 20' Flying Cloud that looks like it just left the show room.
They travel a lot like us and have already logged over 15,000 miles.
It's been raining lightly for the past few hours.
Tomorrow
