Day 21 - LaHave, NS (Day 3)

Today we relaxed and took a closer look at the area around the campground.

Crescent Beach and the Islands
The entrance to Crescent Beach is about a kilometer east of our campground. The road along the beach is the pathway to the LaHave Islands. Some of the islands are connected by bridges. Fortunately, the Lewis home on Bell Island is one with a bridge.

Rissers Beach
We spent the morning walking along Rissers Beach and on the boardwalk over the marshes of the Petite Riviere watershed.

Did You Know?
Canada ceased distribution of pennies on February 4, 2013.  Now they round the sale amount up or down to the nearest 5-cent increment.

The Canadian $1 coin is known as a “Loonie” and the $2 coin is a “Toonie”. Go figure.

Our Hostess
Fran Lewis has been a wonderful hostess and tour guide. Her home, originally built by Captain Bell and his wife Ada in the late 1800s, offers many wonderful views of the past and present.
