We drove 164 miles today
to settle down on yet another island … Cape
Breton Island. It was a pleasant day for the trip.
The Route
We went north on NS-2
from the campground to Hilden, then NS-102 north a short distance to TCH-104,
TCH-104 northeast to Auld’s Cove, across Canso Causway to Cape Breton Island,
and TCH-105 to Baddeck.

Baddeck
Baddeck is described as a
quaint yet vibrant little village right in the center of Cape Breton Island. We saw it as a high-end tourist town.

Campground
We’re camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground, a few
kilometers south of Baddeck. We’ll be exploring from here for three days.

Tomorrow
We’re going to travel Cabot Trail tomorrow. It’s a 185 mile scenic
roadway that loops around the northern tip of the island. It passes
along and through the Cape Breton
Highlands National Park.
