Day 22 - LaHave, NS to Moncton, NB

Today was deja vu all over again as we started our journey westward. The trip from LaHave to Moncton retraced routes we had previously traveled.

The Route
The 247 mile trip took us past Bridgewater, Mahone Bay, Halifax, Dartmouth, Truro, and Amherst, Nova Scotia.

The Weather
This was not a good day for sightseeing. The sun appeared a few times for short periods. Otherwise, the clouds hung low and squalls brought light to heavy rain.

A Delightful Visit
We were up early and preparing for departure when Bob & Nina Seamon arrived. Understand, we're in a campground in a fairly remote area. The possibility of friends "just stopping by" early in the morning is pretty unlikely.

They are dear friends of the Lewis family and have a summer home on Bell Island near Fran Lewis. They were out for their morning walk and decided to stop by to say good bye.

Reflections
We're leaving Nova Scotia today and New Brunswick probably by Wednesday. We've noticed a few things we don't want to forget.

The Rissers Beach Provincial Campground is quite nice. Our site (#38) was nicely secluded by trees. There were at least 6 trailers around us and we couldn't see any of them from our trailer.

We see far more RV sales outlets here than in Ohio. They all seem to specialize in large rigs.

It seems we were just a few steps from the ocean no matter where we were.

The people we've encountered have been wonderfully friendly and helpful.

The Campground
We're staying at Camper's City Resort in Moncton. It's highly rated. The office staff is very courteous, efficient and helpful. Unfortunately, the facility doesn't live up to expectations. The internal roads are rutted. The sites are laid out in a large grassy field with no landscaping.
Site #A-14
Tomorrow
We'll be traveling on all new roads ... no more been there, done that as we head for the western New Brunswick border.
