Day 46 – Dundee, OR (Day 4)

It’s another beautiful day.

A Morning Outing
Barb, Kenny and the children will be in Portland until the afternoon. We went into Newberg for a late breakfast/early lunch. The decision was made at Vineyard Grill on 1st Street. It was lunch (they don’t serve breakfast).

We were then drawn (actually, Carol was drawn ... Dick was pulled) to Janis’ shop across the street to research the latest Baggallini purse styles. We escaped with only a piece of fudge.

The outing ended with a brief driving tour of George Fox University. GFU is a small university located within Newberg. It’s attractive and ranked among the top Christian colleges by Forbes.

A quick stop at Dairy Queen made up for the Baggallini excursion.

Planning Ahead
We started planning the return trip. We'll probably leave for home on September 24th. It looks like we’ll go through Salt Lake City, take US-40 into Denver and find our way back along I-80.

Some Excitement
Around mid-afternoon we heard loud cracking noises, then a crash. It came from beyond the tree line. We discovered that a neighbor's tree had fallen as a result of strong winds. It came down in the back yard and did some damage to their chicken coup. No chickens were injured.
