We
took a diversion today and drove into the Canadian
Badlands.
The
Route
We
took TCH-1 west from Medicine Hat to Crowfoot, then AB-56 north to Drumheller.
The 158 mile trip was one of our shorter days on the road.

About
Drumheller
The
city was once western Canada’s largest coal producer and is now home to
Alberta’s second largest natural gas deposit. Tourism is big here. Attractions
include the Star Mine Suspension Bridge,
Atlas Coal Mine, Canadian Badlands, the World’s
Largest Dinosaur, Little Church, the Royal Tyrrell
Museum, hoodoos and more. Dinosaur marketing in the area is overdone, but
there’s a lot see.

The wise visitors just wanted to look. |

The
Campground
We
intended to stop at the Dinosaur Trail RV
Resort, but ended up at Dinosaur RV
Park. They’re close together, but different. It was our mistake. The one we happened to choose meets our needs a little better. Neither is
outstanding.

Tomorrow
We’ll
stay here another day and take in the museum.
Looking
Ahead
We
should return to the U.S. on Saturday.
